Each team will be required to compete in 7 different exercises, which comprise the following marine-related areas:
- Dynamic Positioning
- Seamanship
- Emergency Management
- Offshore Operations
- Shiphandling/Navigation
- Search and Rescue
- Marine Emergency Duties (this will be facilitated on the Friday evening of the competition!)
As some of these nautical skills may be new to some of the student participants (especially 1st year students), preparation material for each exercise will be provided prior to competition day. This information will be directly related to the tasks that the participants would be expected to know and perform. Students may also reach out to the Exercise Leads, who are the volunteer Master Mariners who design and facilitate the exercises.
